Issue 24 of South of the River – the monthly magazine devoted to Hunslet RLFC and grassroots Rugby League in the southern districts of Leeds – is now on sale.

Hunslet have, in response to continuing interest from overseas fans – and also in view of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic – broken new ground by producing the July 2020 edition on-line.

The latest issue includes articles on players and teams from way beyond south Leeds, with a special feature on some of the fine Welshmen who have starred for the club, and a look at Ebbsfleet AFC, with whom the Parksiders could form a special and productive relationship following the appointment of director Damian Irvine as CEO of the Kent outfit.

And readers may also be interested in an article on how the first international Australian sports team to travel abroad fared against the founding Hunslet club….

South of the River – which comprises an expanded 44 pages to celebrate it going on-line – also contains entertaining articles by long-standing contributors such as Pat Benatmane and, on schools rugby, Steve Boothroyd, and is packed as ever with evocative images.
