The March 2019 issue of ‘South of the River’ which is devoted to Betfred League 1 leaders Hunslet RLFC and amateur Rugby League in general in south Leeds is now on sale priced at just £3.

This month’s copy edited by Phil Hodgson, which also acts as a match-day programme, focuses on the three teams – West Wales Raiders, West Bowling and Coventry Bears – to be hosted by Hunslet RLFC during March.

Captain Duane Straugheir and halfback Reece Dean are interviewed, while Head Coach Gary Thornton gives his views on the season so far. Regular columnists Pat Benatmane, Chris Westwood and Steve Boothroyd are as entertaining as ever and Chairman Neil Hampshire offers his usual intelligent insights into developments in the sport as a whole, and particularly on how they affect Hunslet.

With coverage of the early stages of the amateur season included, South of the River is a must-read for Rugby League supporters in Hunslet and beyond.

Hunslet RLFC Commercial Manager Paul Taylor said “I’d like to thank Phil for all his hard work bringing this quality publication together.

“In an era when clubs are moving away from a traditional match day programme to online content or nothing at all as cost saving measure, we made the decision to produce something unique on a monthly basis that people can read at their leisure at home.

“We’ve been really encouraged by feedback so far and also sales to date which is a real positive for rugby league in South Leeds.”
