Hi Everyone,

What a fabulous feeling to be giving this message following our first game for over a year. Cobwebs were well and truly blown away as GT and the squad came away with a deserved victory against a very spirited and talented North Wales side that have definitely strengthened this season. They will prove a test to many, particularly at home on their tight pitch.

A huge thanks to Ian Johnson, who really has gone above and beyond to ensure we are operationally sound to hold games Behind Closed Doors (BCD) and our team of volunteers who all worked hard to make sure the game was a success. Thanks also to all of you who joined in the livestream, never underestimate the offer of a free drink! Seriously though, we had 158 people sign up for the livestream including a good third of that number from North Wales.

That was a pleasing number given that this was the first time we’ve attempted livestreaming and the game was a friendly. Unfortunately I do know that a few of you had problems with buffering so we are working with our partners GoMedia this week to see what we can do to improve our service and your experience.

To support this we will also publish some hints and tips that should help to resolve problems too. We did have a couple of fans try to watch the game from the tennis centre too but luckily they didn’t stay too long.

I can’t stress enough that the RFL will come down on us hard if we have fans in the ground or stadium complex whilst BCD protocols remain in place.

My thanks to everyone who respected that position. I hope you can all join us again this week for what should prove to be a good test against the league’s hot favourites in Barrow.

Kenny
