After transferring from Featherstone Rovers Waine Pryce made his first appearance at Oldham today in 2010. He was with Hunslet for three seasons making 65 appearances and scoring 37 tries. While at Hunslet he represented Jamaica four times – against USA and Canada in the 2010 Atlantic Cup and against South Africa and USA in the 2011 World Cup Qualifiers. He had previously played for England Knights.  In 2010 he scored 6 tries against Gateshead Thunder to equal Willie Swann’s record set 10 years earlier.

A little further back and in 1935 Joe Britton signed on from Hunslet Supporters for the princely sum of £25. He served the club for 14 seasons initially as a back up hooker at a time when international Les White was first choice. He started picking up games as a prop and later in WW2 became a regular hooker and eventually made 199 appearances. He played in both legs of the 1944 Yorkshire Cup final and was a guest with Keighley and Leeds during the war. As a junior he had played for Yorkshire schoolboys and transferred to Bramley in 1949.

The 1904 Challenge Cup commenced today and Hunslet visited Crown Flatt to face Dewsbury. Tries from Burnett, Uttley and Walter Goldthorpe together with 3 Albert Goldthorpe goals saw Hunslet progress to the second round 15-0. The 1978 draw paired Hunslet wth Featherstone Rovers at Post Office Road but an Alan Griffiths try and two Frank Davies goals were insufficient to stop Featherstone winning 21-7. It was visit to Hull to play East Hull in 2006 and Hunslet returned along the M62 having won 20-2 And more recently, in 2023, Keighley Cougars visited South Leeds Stadium and left with a 16-14 win under their belts.

In 1910 Hunslet had travelled to Widnes in the first round and their win was rewarded with a home tie against high flying Wakefield Trinity. A crowd of 16,000 assembled at Parkside expecting a keen game which is what they saw. In the first half, Freddie Farrar opened the scoring for Hunslet with a penalty and before half time Metcalfe equalised for Wakefield. Before half-time Billy Batten was caught fighting with Auty, a Wakefield forward and the pair were sent from the field. Their was no further scoring in the match so it was on to a replay at Belle Vue mid-week.

An early finish to the 1899-1900 Yorkshire Senior Competition saw Hunslet finish in 8th place with 14 wins and 2 draws from the 16 matches. Billy Hannah was top try scorer with 7 and Albert Goldthorpe got 29 goals.
