HUNSLET CLUB PARKSIDE rose to fourth in the National Conference League’s Premier Division after posting a third successive victory with a 26-12 verdict at bottom side York Acorn.

The visitors, who were level at 12-12 early in the second half, took the spoils through tries by Kieran Webster and Jack McShane, with Danny Rowse, who improved both scores, landing a vital penalty between-times.

Rowse also improved touchdowns in the first half by Ben Shulver and Craig McShane.

OULTON and STANNINGLEY – who meet at the Raiders on Saturday – both lost, however. Oulton have slipped from top to fifth after losing 28-18 at Wigan St Patricks, never quite recovering from a 22-0 interval deficit despite an impressive rally involving tries by Danny Mackintosh, Harry Kendall, Andy Williamson and Adrian Holdsworth, plus a Danny Johnson conversion.

Stanningley are still in the promotion race despite being beaten 50-12 at Cumbrian side Kells after having gone in front with a Daniel Barcoe try which Ben Selby, who also improved a second half effort by Sam Savage, converted.

A last-gasp drop goal by Matty Scott helped HUNSLET WARRIORS to a 19-19 draw with Woolston in Division Two – only a couple of minutes after the visitors had edged in front with a one-pointer of their own.

The Warriors had been level through tries by Jordan Gale, Josh McLelland and Dale Bateson, plus three Gale goals.

EAST LEEDS continue to take Division Three by storm and, although travelling with only 15 players, extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a 26-10 win at Bentley. Nathan Conroy led the way with a try and three goals, while Ben Walkin, Ryan Wooffitt, Andy Djeukessi and Luke Mullen also dotted down. DRIGHLINGTON, though, were beaten 34-0 by visitors Waterhead despite a tireless display by Declan Brerton.
