Hunslet Rugby League club have snapped up Italian international Jake Maizen on a loan deal from Halifax.
The 26-year-old Australian-born threequarter, who made a big impression in last year’s World Cup, notably scoring a hat-trick against Scotland, is with the Parksiders on a two-week arrangement, with an option to renew. He will be available for selection for Sunday’s important home fixture with Betfred League 1 promotion rivals Doncaster.
Head coach Alan Kilshaw said: “We are delighted to bring someone of Jake’s quality into the group. He has a great attitude, has expressed how much he wants to contribute to us during his time at Hunslet, and is a player the fans can be really excited about.”
