Hunslet stage their last home game of the regular Betfred League 1 campaign on Sunday (20 August, 3.00pm) seeking to strengthen their grip on second spot in the table ahead of the promotion play-offs.

The Parksiders entertain London Skolars, who are at the foot of the section, without a win this season; and one player in particular has extra reason to look forward to the fixture.

Matty Beharrell, who is poised to make the 200th appearance of a successful professional career, has enjoyed 19 games so far for Hunslet during 2022 and 2023, and had thirteen outings with Dewsbury Rams last year.

Previously, he turned out on 55 occasions for Doncaster from 2018 to 2021 after having featured 38 times with Keighley Cougars during 2017 and 2018.

Swinton benefited from his presence in 26 matches in 2015, while Newcastle/Gateshead Thunder selected him in 46 fixtures during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Beharrell featured once with Hull KR in 2013 while, earlier this year, he played for Impact Performance National Conference League outfit Hull Dockers against Midlands Hurricanes in the Betfred Challenge Cup.

Another target on the maestroโ€™s horizon, meanwhile, is 500 career goals. He is currently on the 491 mark, comprising:

  • 70 (including two field goals) for Hunslet.
  • 21 for Dewsbury
  • 202 (including three field goals) for Doncaster.
  • 113 (including two field goals) for Keighley.
  • 3 (including one field goal) for Swinton.
  • 82 (including two field goals) for Newcastle/Gateshead.
