It has been a busy few days for Hunslet Head Coach Dean Muir as this season’s deadline for registrations closed at 5pm today.
Muir, whose team currently sit 3rd in the table, commented “It’s been a bit hectic and I’d like to thank our Chairman Kenny Sykes for all his support in the administration of the paper work. In terms of the signings I am more than happy and the additions at this stage of the season ensures both cover for injuries and competition for places.”
Hunslet have secured winger Mackenzie Scurr on a contract for the rest of the season. “Mackenzie was great for us while on loan from Bradford so it was a no-brainer to sign him for the remainder of the season.”
Also coming into the fold on contracts are Josh Rhodes from Batley and Charlie Tetley from Wakefield. “Both players are Middles. They are young lads looking to improve which will give us options in the squad.”
This good news comes off the back of Dual-Registration Centre Joe Law going to York. Law has been impressive in recent weeks and Wakefield have decided to loan him into the Championship. “Joe’s become a better player with us and is now moving onto the next level in the Championship. We would have loved to keep him but have perhaps become a victim of our own success. This is where we are at the moment, and we wish Joe all the best.”
Hunslet are further bolstered for the run in with the registration of loanees Mackenzie Turner from Oldham and Thomas Delaney and Ethan Wood from Wakefield.
George Flanagan Jnr, Jordan Paga and Isaac Shaw are also still available to call on.
