Dean Muir has named his squad for the Challenge Cup clash against Keighley Cougars at the South Leeds Stadium this Sunday (February 11th).

Looking forward to playing against his old team Muir said “Having been at Keighley I have a lot of friends at Cougar Park, but come Sunday friendships will be put to one side as we look to compete with a good Cougars side. Training has been good this week with the lads ripping in and we need our fans to get behind the team from the off”.

After three big games so far this season some of the squad are carrying knocks and may not play. The impressive Iwan Orr misses out as does Brandan Wilkinson, Ben Sheils, Dan McGrath and Aidan Scully whilst Ethan O’Hanlon has a 2 match ban, Matty Beharrell, Michael Knowles and Harvey Hallas are doubts, but this gives a chance for the rest of the squad to put their hands up in a game against a Keighley team that will be surely promotion rivals come the end of the season.

The Parksiders have also moved to bring in 21 year old centre Will Adams from Bradford Bulls on loan for the season.

With the focus being on competing and getting better for the league season this is a possible chance of a lucrative cup run, but Muir said “Although some of the lad’s efforts have been improved, some are not quite there yet and that will only come with game time”.

Having met Keighley at home twice in the last 2 seasons the clubs have won one each, so both teams will be hoping to go 2-1 up in what is becoming a regular event.
